The month of April brings in the rain showers, new sprouts, and earth day! 22nd April is slated as international Earth Day, a day to pay homage to our home and our planet earth. As we move deeper into the technological age many of us are losing touch with nature. It is important that we take time out of our schedules to remember our natural environment.

This year’s Earth day theme is “INVESTING IN OUR PLANET” – the theme we will be exploring during this year’s MOTHER EARTH FESTIVAL. Green Butterfly has hosted the “Mother Earth Festival” for the past 7 years. During the COVID lockdowns and event bans we paused the physical festival and had it only virtually. This year the festival returns to its physical form and will be held at the ABURI BOTANICAL GARDENS on Saturday April 22nd, and Sunday April 23rd.

On Saturday 22nd April, we kick things off with THE GREEN BUTTERFLY MARKET from 10am to 5pm featuring local, sustainable, and eco-friendly products. Items on sale will include locally made art, crafts, ,clothing, accessories, skincare, haircare, foods and beverages.

Also at 10 am our HOLISTIC CLINIC opens,, featuring natural and holistic therapists and practitioners from various fields in the holistic practice. We will have Psychotherapists, Physical Therapists, Herbalists, Ayurvedic practitioners, Massage therapists, Crystal healers and more. Be sure to check out our PLANT-BASED COOKOUT happening with Ana, a certified plant nutritionist who will be teaching us exciting new recipes.

We will have the CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT performing a play called “The little Hummingbird” as well as a Reggae Concert from 7pm featuring SHASHA MARLY, YAZ MEEN, WANLOV, RAS BOOMBA, OSAGYEFO, KOJO KOMBOLO and friends.

Sunday 23rd April ushers in our new day meditations and yoga in the morning at 6am followed by a PLANT BASED BREAKFAST at 9am. We will be planting seedlings for the nursery, hosting children’s forums and holistic panel discussions until 4pm when the DANCE RAVE begins. Let loose and set yourself free! Dance with us!
